Issues working from OneDrive [Fixed in version 2024]

[This has been fixed in MicroSurvey CAD 2024, released December 16, 2024.]

Good day! We are currently dealing with a critical issue that arose with a OneDrive update on October 2, 2024. Please avoid actively working in drawings saved to a location that backs up to OneDrive until we can resolve this. However, it is important to note that copying and storing drawings (.DWG and .MSZ) in OneDrive locations is safe. The issue lies in opening and saving drawings in these locations. The main symptom is encountering the "Drawing Recovery Wizard" when attempting to open a drawing that was previously saved and closed properly. Fortunately, we have redundant backups in place.

This article explains how the Drawing Recovery Wizard works and some good practices for preventing its need in the first place.

This article explains how to recover a drawing if the Drawing Recovery Wizard fails to do so, which we have seen some instances of with this OneDrive change.
